Tom Britt, USCF National Master, 2240 rating
- Tom was part of the Fairmont West H.S. Team in the high school days; where the team won the OH state title and went on to win the 1980 National H.S. Chess Championships by a record score! In college, he played and won tournaments, including the Pan-Am where OSU tied for third, among all colleges.
- Tom has been Dayton champion, Columbus (three times) champion and won the Columbus Open, as well as many other events, including the Ohio State Action championship.
- Tom has taught many private students, who have had great success and Tom taught in the schools including Wellington, Dublin middle schools and St Brendan’s Catholic Middle School, as well as others.
In his pursuits of being a strong player and teacher, Tom has put many hours into bettering his play and his method of instruction, so as to strive for excellence. He seeks to help the players learn about chess and help develop the kids into people of good character. So, life lessons are a big part of what Tom wants to communicate, being good team players, working hard as an important ethic and mostly giving your best to actualize your potential. In this way the students become all around champions, at the board and in life!

Chess Master Michael Vilenchuk (rating 2300+) is an experienced player and coach. His achievements include winning two Ohio championships, the winner of the 2011 Denker Tournament of State Champions, 2011 North American co-champion, 32 at the World Youth in Brazil, and most recently becoming the 2014 Greater Boston Chess Champion. He has over eight years of experience and has taught nine Ohio grade level champions. Lessons can be taken over Skype and chess.com.
